Current Team

Below are the members of the current VEFFA Executive Team 2017 (ExT):

 

ANH TUAN TRAN- Executive Director

ANH TUAN TRAN is an MSc/PhD student in Civil Engineering at University of Arkansas. He considers himself as an open-minded, nice and ambitious guy. His vision for VEFFA is to connect current and future Vietnamese scientists to build a strong academic community toward the development of Vietnam.

 

 HUONG THU PHAM

 

HUONG THU PHAM is a PhD student at University of Arkansas, majors in Civil Engineering. She is the treasurer of VEFFA this year.

 

Y HA MY HOANG 

Y HA MY HOANG is a PhD student at the Microbiology & Molecular Genetics Department, Michigan State University. She holds a BSc degree in Microbiology from the College of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Y thinks VEFFA is a community where she can meet many talented people and learn a lot from them.

 

CUONG NGUYEN

CUONG HUU NGUYEN is a PhD student at University of California, Davis. His major is Food Science and Technology.

 

 NGUYEN L.K. NGUYEN

 

NGUYEN NGUYEN, VEF Fellow 2016, is a PhD student at the University of California, Davis. His research is RF/Millimeter-wave Integrated Circuit design. He received his bachelor degree at the Vietnamese-German University, Hochiminh City. He loves playing the piano during his free time. What he wants the most from the VEFFA is to connect people and strengthen the network that encourage Vietnamese students to really push themselves to the limit.

 

 KHUONG VINH NGUYEN

 

KHUONG VINH NGUYEN is currently a Doctoral Student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State University, USA. He is conducting research in the Ultrafast THz Optoelectronic Laboratory (UTOL) under professor John O’Hara’s supervision. Prior to that, Mr. NGUYEN received his BS degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam (HCMUT) in 2014, and received his MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, from the University of Arkansas, USA in 2018 under the prestigious sponsorship of 2016 Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF) Fellowship. He spent two years working as a full-time R&D electrical engineer in green power solutions at Bach Khoa Investment and Development of Solar Energy Corporation (SolarBK) from 2014 to 2016. Also in that period of time, he did his part-time job as a teaching assistant at HCMUT. He has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2017. His research interests are ultrafast optoelectronics, Terahertz science and engineering, and power electronics applications in renewable energy.

 

 TUNG THANH PHAM

 

TUNG THANH PHAM is currently pursuing the Master of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His favorite quote is from Dr. Jonas Salk:

“…And, I believe that this is all linked to my original ambition, or desire, which was to be of some help to humankind, so to speak, in a larger sense than just on a one-to-one basis”
