How can you help?

Since the Vietnam Book Drive is a voluntary and non-profit project, your help and support, small or big, are vital to its success. Let’s give a hand and help to bring books and knowledge to students in Vietnam.

Donate books

By donating your books, you can give hundreds of students in Vietnam a better access to knowledge. Please be a part of this important impact by simply send us an email at vnbookdrive@veffa.org and we will arrange a pickup of your books.

Donate money

One dollar may not be enough to buy a textbook or ship a book to Vietnam. But collectively, one thousand dollars can ship thousands of books to Vietnam. Any financial contribution, small or large, will help more books to reach students in Vietnam faster.

You may donate to The Vietnam Book Drive Project via Paypal using this Donate button.

Don’t forget to let us know your name so that we can show you our appreciation for your support.

Help spread out the message

You can help us to spread out the words about our campaign at your school by sending out an email to your department or student groups’ mailing lists. This is as simple as copying the email template posted in each Campaign, making some changes such as your name, filling in the email addresses, and clicking the Send button. Alternatively, you can download the project poster, customize them if needed then put it on your department noticeboard.

If you would like to get even more involved, we welcome you to join the project by becoming a local representative at your school, volunteering to do collect and deliver books, and work with our Web team and Logistics team. We have lots of work to do, and we always need your help. Register with us and let us know if you want to be part of this wonderful crew in any way.

Guidelines for Local Representatives

By becoming a local representative, you join the team that drives this project. The energy you put in this project will decide how far this project can go and make impacts. Below are some guidelines to help us work together as a team.

  1. Every year, we launch couples of campaigns to call for book donations. Please join the effort to bring the campaign to your campus! Distribute the campaign posters and send out "call for donations" emails.
  2. You will receive all emails from potential book contributors via team mailing list. Based on the email addresses, you may be the person to initiate contacting them. Please go ahead and do so. Make sure to shoot back a message to group list that you will take care of that donation.
  3. Please use Goodreads to input data of the books you collected following this guideline.
  4. You should store all collected books until about one month before Annual Book Day. We announce the specific date when you can start shipping your books to us.
  5. To send your books, you should pack them in Uhaul small boxes, at 70.00 lbs or less and bring them to your nearest USPS office then select the Media Mail class. Please pack use the mailing tapes, DO NOT USE tapes with metal fabrics to seal your packages as USPS won't accept them.
  6. Keep all receipts as we will reimburse you for all the related expenses.
  7. That's all. Let's work together and do something small but meaningful!
