After three successful campaigns, we have collect more than ten thousand books to five universities throughout Vietnam. This year, we continue our mission to help our fellow students at home. Please explore this section to learn more about the campaign! CALL FOR BOOK DONATIONS Textbooks for students in need in Vietnam Dear Friends, We are sending you this message to call for your help in collecting and donating books for college students in Vietnam, on behalf of the Vietnam Book Drive Project Team. The Vietnam Book Drive Project is organized by Vietnam Education Foundation Fellows Association (VEFFA), a non-profit association of Vietnamese students in the US. The goal of our nation-wide project is to help increase access to textbooks and research materials for students and researchers in Vietnam through collecting new and used books from universities in the US and sending them to Vietnam Since Fall 2007, the campaign has been receiving great supports from many US universities, organizations and individuals. More than 4500 books shipped to Vietnam were made possible with efforts and book donations from professors and students from more than 30 campuses in the US, as well as with monetary donations from Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), the Vietnamese Embassy in the US, and other organizations and individuals. In 2008, two joint libraries between VEFFA and Hanoi University of Technology (HUT), and Vinh University (VU) was opened to public with books collected from the campaign. In December 2008, the Vietnam Book Drive bus tour, which aimed at picking up donated books from 10 campuses and raising awareness of the project to potential supporters, was organized successfully. To continue building up resources for the HUT-VEFFA library, VU-VEFFA library and to open a new library in Hochiminh City in 2009, we are announcing the launch of the 2009 Vietnam Book Drive Campaign. The 2009 campaign will run through out the whole year with the goals to collect more than 5000 high-quality books before the annual VEF conference held in January 2010 and to send these books to the three mentioned libraries in Vietnam. Your strong supports would go a long way to make our campaign successful. We would greatly appreciate your efforts and your donations to help us accomplish the goal.
